Keratin Bonds
This method is one of the longest standing methods on the market and its clear to see why. This is the method with the longest lifespan without needing any maintenance in between fittings and once they are fitted, they will last months in your hair until they are retipped or removed, meaning they are ideal for those who may not have a lot of free time for salon visits! Keratin bonds are also the most discrete method of extensions and are ideal for those who like to wear their hair up on a regular basis. The bonds are extremely small and tend to be virtually undetectable.
This method has a lot of bad press for being the most damaging method for your natural hair due to also being referred to as ‘glue in extensions’. This is simply not the case! Keratin is a protein which is naturally found within your hair (as well as lots of shampoos and protein treatments) - this protein has simply been hardened to create a bond which is then placed on the top of an individual strand of the extension.
Application is done by using a small heating tool (similar to straighteners) to melt the bond onto a neat section of your own hair with a similar weight to the extension, meaning there is no tension created on your natural hair when housing the extension! As with all methods of extensions, if they are not applied correctly and the correct aftercare is not adhered to then these can be damaging - however you can be sure that we only offer 100% safe applications and you will not walk away from the salon feeling like you are unsure on how to look after your extensions!
This method is safe and simple, it is ideal for gym goers and those with a busy lifestyle or who like to experiment with different styles. This method also contains no metal or aluminium so is safe for those with allergies. Once fitted, keratin bonds last around 3 months before needing to be removed and retipped ready for reapplication.
